BALTIMORE – CC Sabathia’s latest flareup of right knee inflammation landed him on the 10-day injured list, though the Yankees don’t expect it to be a long stay.“It’s something we know we’re going to face at different times throughout the year with CC,’’ manager Aaron Boone said of the maintenance required on the veteran lefty’s arthritic knee. While the team moves on to a three-game series at Kansas City, Sabathia will travel back to New York for an exam by Dr. Christopher Ahmad, the club’s physician.Sabathia is expected to receive injections of cortisone and a lubricant and he mentioned the possibility of having the knee drained of fluid.“It’s something I need to take care of,’’ Sabathia said after surviving five innings in Wednesday night’s 7-5 win against the Orioles at Camden Yards.Sabathia would be eligible to return on June 2, the final game of a home series against the Red Sox, though it’s too early to tell if he’ll be ready by then.
