Gallery: Sights from Jersey Shore barsPOINT PLEASANT — The Route 88 bridge over the Point Pleasant Canal is scheduled to be closed weeknights starting Monday, April 8, between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m., according to the New Jersey Department of Transportation.The bridge will be detoured for two weeks. The closure is necessary in order to lift the bridge and paint components not accessible when the bridge is in the down position, according to a news release from the transportation department.Traffic will be detoured through Beaver Dam Road, the Lovelandtown Bridge and Bay Avenue.
The final phase of the project will include lane closures on the bridge between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. between April 22 and April 29.
