BRICK - Brick's newest fitness club, LA Fitness at Brick Plaza, will open after Christmas.LA Fitness will open on Thursday at 3 p.m. The new 34,000-square-foot fitness club replaces the former Sports Authority store, which closed in 2016. A section of the old store was converted for parking.Once open, hours will be 5 a.m. to 11 p.m., Mondays through Thursdays; 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. Fridays and 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. weekends.More: Brick board approves Starbucks on Brick BoulevardMore: At Home store finds itself at home at Laurel Square in BrickThe club's amenities include a full-sized basketball court, a three-lane pool, more than 70 pieces of cardio equipment each with a TV and phone connection, and 26,000 pounds of free weights, general manager Michael Eisenberg said.There are also other activities such as yoga, Pilates and fitness classes as well as a spin studio.

  • Gravity Vault. Construction of an indoor rock climbing gym has begun at the location of the former Mansion nightclub.
  • Tre Pizza Pasta Beer Garden and Rosalita's Roadside Cantina. Rosalita's open earlier this month. Tre is under construction now. The project created two restaurants from the former 9,500-square-foot Joe's Crab Shack.
  • The former Bon Ton. The large space at Brick Plaza remains vacant after the department store closed this past summer.
  • A boardwalk. The wooden boards will run from Applebee's to the new Tre and Rosalita's. connecting the center's Chambers Bridge Road side with the Cedar Bridge Avenue side. There will be lighting, seating and areas to gather.
